End of Semester
At the end of the semester I look back on the first day of class, just learning Blender and thinking I was in over my head. The program looked so difficult at the time. The more and more we had assignments and projects the more familiar i became with Blender and the more I started to like it, and also enjoy it. The final project was a lot of fun to work with, I chose to create a geometric figure and have a camera animate around it, along with a bunch of stills. I have learned a great deal about blender and am happy I took this class!

End Of Morph Project
The morph project all together was a lot of fun to work with, yet it had its ups and downs. The ups of the project has to be, the creation of the objects motion, along with using displacements. It was a lot of fun and interesting to work with a movie on a plane, which then i was able to find all the different geometric figures to animate the movie. The downs of the project, was the scare of rendering time, and hoping that the final outcome was what you had expected. The project was a challenge, yet this project helped me with all the new and different aspects of blender. Having my movie finally animated, and on a quicktime is exciting!!!! Can't wait to start the final!Tuesday, October 30, 2007
Visceral Facades: Taking Matta-Clark's crowbar to software

Having architecture for the first art of measurement of time and space helps to actually bring the structures to live. Where the computers build up from the scale of electrons, instead of stone and wood. The special effects of time and distance have helped with the perception of the environment greatly. Gordon was an artist who trained as an architect. Whereas some of his work could only been produced by someone who was completely familiar with the strange reality within reality of itself. Gordon really uses a split between art and architecture within his work. Sometimes shows the difference of past and present. The idea of the technical situations can be viewed at any point of development within the technical proficiency. The action that was carried in 1974, with the splitting of the house is a great example of change and transformation. He started with a simple house that was a simple detached wooden house and bisected the home. The whole house was exactly cut in two and the short film shows angles and he sunlights streams through the slits. The idea of taking a house and cutting it exactly into two shows the special effects of the time and distance. The idea of a houses architecture being cut into two is amazing to see because it is very unusual. The house's architecure becoming two is part of the past and present, the past as the house being a whole whereas the present, the architecure of the house into two. Architecture of the art with the time and space is exactly what this piece of art, and architecture is.

Morph
While working on the Morphing project, the program is starting to make more, and more sense. The whole idea of the morphing project is interesting and a lot of fun, yet stressful! The further I am getting into the project the easier it is to find my way around the techniques. For the morph project i would like to put an older film into my shape and use dupliverts and then animate. I really just want to mess around with all the different techniques in Blender and see which one I like the best!

Finished Lego Project

The Lego project was a success!! The further I moved along in the project the more into the figure I became! I really enjoyed the project a lot and I feel I learned Blender a lot better! The Lego Project was a lot of fun and it was awesome being able to start with a little figure and further the project into something completely different. I am looking forward to the morphing project. I also hope to learn a lot more with blender as the semester goes on!!

Lego
When the project was introduced I had a lot of different idea's as to what I wanted to create. I looked online at the Lego website and also the images on the internet. I am really looking forward to this project, I have made a model with three different tower type bodies along with a good size base at the bottom. As I started to build the Lego model the more I was excited to start the actual model with Blender. Using the Lego blocks to build I believe is a great idea and then transferring the model into a three dimensional program on the computer. Starting the Lego project with Blender has gone a lot smoother then the Phena project went. I feel as though I am learning the program a lot more, and the more fun I am having with the Program.
Middle of Lego Project

The start of the Lego project was a little shaky for me. I was still getting familiar with all the different techniques that the building took on. After the first couple blocks were constructed together the easier and more fun the project started to become. Building my model is a lot of fun and is interesting being able to combine all the different blocks together on the computer to build my model exact. I can't wait to see the final outcome! :)

Mathematics as Infromation
Mathematics as Information was a very interesting read, there was a lot of information about the different patterns of mathematics. There are FIVE archetypes including, Number, Space, Logic, Infinity, and Information. In this reading the archetypes were referred back to the hand, such as, Hand as Number. When looking at a hand you are able to see all the different form and detail within your hand. Holding up your hand you have five fingers, you can count your knuckles, fingernails, winkles, hair, and much more. "Your hand codes up a whole lot of numbers." Hand as space, the hand is a three-dimensional object of space. Whereas Hand as Logic, this more or less deals with the hands muscles, bones, and tendons which make up the hand. The hand can easily be referred back to a machine with all the different ways in which a hand moves and also the way your brain tells you to move. Hand as Infinity is what actually takes up the space and can range in the different sizes and scales. Lastly Hand as Information are the instructions coded up in your DNA. "The length of these instructions gives a measure of the amount of information in your hand." Your hand can interact with many different effects in your life such as, wrinkles, freckles, scars, and so on. This is your hands information and the scars and marks left on your hand can easily show what has happened in your past. This reading was very helpful because as the reading went on it gave a more in depth look at the different five archetypes. I was able to learn a lot from this reading and helped me to understand the different ways patterns can really take form.Tuesday, September 25, 2007

I found this image on the web of a creation of building blocks and I found it really interesting to look at because this is
what we are creating with our models. This picture helped because it gave an idea of what the final outcome may look like after we are done putting all of the building blocks together.

Phenakistocope

Starting on the Phenakisocope was very challenging at the beginning. Learning a whole new program such as blender is always a struggle at the beginning. After the first week or so, the program started to grow on me. Designing the front part was a lot of fun, I chose birds flying. I researched different types of Phenakistocope's online to get idea's and I came across birds in flight. It was a very interesting concept to view online therefore I decided to create my own look. Coming to the end of the project I have learned a lot of information that deals with blender and animation. Different camera angles, lighting, rotating, and much more. This program is really growing on me, even though the Phenakistocope was a challenge.
